Chlorine was first developed by and used by the Germans. The first use of chlorine gas was on April 22, 1915. After the first use of chlorine gas 1,100 people had died. German scientist Fritz Haber developed this gas and had pushed for it to be used in war. After it was successful he had gotten a shocking amount of support from others promoting him to continue to expirement and develop more chemicals.
